What's that, Furcadia?

To Amber ~Lost too soon.

by on Nov.21, 2007, under Artists, News

Every day across the planet, thousands of lives spring into existence. Little flames flickering in the darkness, slowly gaining strength to cast illumination into the lives of everyone they pass.

Every day thousands of flames vanish, wavering in the wind before finally vanishing completely, leaving in their absence a void that is filled with shadows, pain, sorrow, and regret.

On Tuesday, November 20th, Amber Nicole Gokey, more commonly known to her friends on the Internet as Amber or Adema, passed away after a terrible car accident less than a mile away from her mother’s home.

This is a flame whose absence will leave a gaping hole in the hearts and lives of the people who knew her best. She was an inspiring friend who was always kind and always ready to lend time to those who were in need. Her heart seemed to know no end to its generosity, and her friends all remark on how gorgeous the world was with her in it, and how stark the contrast is with her gone.

She will be missed by those who knew her best. Those who never managed to know her will be missing out on a fabulous person who inspired everyone to reach for something greater than what they were. The kind of person who was friendly, heartfelt, “a bit daft, sometimes, just like everybody else,” and who offered more to the world than she ever took.

Her friends say that she was a good artist, who loved to work on images and who loved music.

“I always felt like she deserved better than she got.”

Her life wasn’t perfect, and nobody would pretend that it was. That was one of her strengths, though.

“I don’t think she was a long term planning sort of person, but I sort of admired that about her.”

No matter what her faults were, Amber seemed to exemplify the very meaning of friendship and caring, inspiring others to care for people.

“She was the biggest sweetheart and I knew I could always ask her for support. She was funny and spontaneous and you never knew what she’d so next.”

In the darkness left by her passing, there is a silver shining of light. Every person she knew; every life that she touched will forever be altered, and changed, and perhaps just a little better. For this angel, who left the world so violently, a memory of her life lingers on in all of those who knew her. The light she spread and brought forth into the world will not soon be extinguished as all of her friends continue to remember her, and tell others of her kindness.

In Memory of Amber Nicole Gokey. A woman who had too little time to pass along all the love, kindness, and caring that she had stored in her heart. An angel amongst mortals, who left a legacy amongst her friends and family that will not soon be lost.

For a moment, for a few people, the world stood still.

For a moment, for a few people, the world darkened.

For a moment, for a few people, a small part of their soul was extinguished.

Death brought a great tragedy to them early on a Tuesday afternoon, and the echoing silence where her laughter chimed is loud enough to break a heart.

This article is done in Loving Memory of Amber, aka Adema. Though I never knew her personally, it took but a few moments, while talking to her friends, to realize that this article was needed to commemorate a life lost too soon.

Rest in Peace.

 What if…
I don’t live to see tomorrow?
Would you be at my funeral?

What if…
I’m nothing you expected?
Would you still accept me?

What if…
I tried to steal your heart away?
Would you let me keep it?

What if…
I ended up in Hell?
Would you go with me?

What if…
I promised to be yours forever?
Would you believe me?

What if…
I said I’d love you until I died?
Would you love me?

I never knew Amber, but I will still wish her to rest in peace. This is a beautiful article written for an apparently beautiful person. I feel grief for those who knew her, but she is at peace now. No more worry. No more sorrow. And no more anger. From what I’ve read, I could only imagine that she is looking down on her friends now, smiling and waving. I’m sure she wants all of her friends not to feel sad for her now, because she is not in any pain anymore. She is free now. And I believe that now, Amber is at her happiest. Once again, R.I.P. dear Amber.
